Nunatta Isiginnaartitsisarfia (Greenland National Theater) visits the Greenlandic House in Aarhus, Denmark. The performance is shown in collaboration with Nukiga.
Killingusaaq Qulangerlugu is about two large Greenlandic expedition participants; Hans Hendrik Suersaq (1834-1889) from Qeqertarsuatsiaat, who took part in four different expeditions, and Arnarulunnguaq (1896-1933) from Thule, who took part in the Fifth Thule expedition (1921-1924).
It is a story about two of the many Greenlandic expedition participants who have travelled on some of the great Arctic expeditions over time, but whose names have not been at the top of the history books.
Their local knowledge, skills, and adaptability were indispensable on these expeditions. The performance lasts 55 minutes and is shaped like a live documentary, where the action takes place on stage, and the story itself is seen on the white screen. The performance is for adults and will be perfromed in Greenlandic, with English subtitles.
